When you purchase real estate make sure you are aware that the taxes are pro-rated when you close for that year. You will have a tax ticket, which may come out in the previous owner's name next year. Make sure you inform our office so that we can place an in care of on the address and also check to see what class the property will be in for the following year. An understanding between you and the previous owner, in the closing, should be made so that you can understand who is responsible for taxes.
Maps in our office are location maps and not aerial maps. Flood maps are in the Planning Department. Plat Maps are on record in the County Clerk's Office. |
