Welcome from your Putnam County Assessor

As your Putnam County Assessor, I, Sherry L. Hayes, would like to personally welcome you to my website. My goal, as your Assessor, is to serve with honesty, integrity, and professionalism and provide services that will better assist you, the taxpayer.

An advantage of our website is forms (farm discount, personal property and business personal property assessment forms) will be online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This will enable us to deliver greater services with the expenditure of fewer tax dollars. Please know there are specific dates for sign up and you can only print out forms during that period. Also, any forms either brought into the office or postmarked after that deadline will not be accepted. There will be articles in the local paper keeping you informed of exact sign up dates for homestead exemption and farm discount, location of data collectors, and general information to help you understand the functions of the office. Our office is in the process of working on a Geographical Information System, enabling our office to provide real estate data of your home, picture, tax map information, etc. Completion of this project will be in the near future. Mobile offices will be located throughout the county, July through September, giving taxpayers the opportunity to signup for their discounts and fill out their assessment forms.
